BM28 Series Connectors

0.35mm pitch, 0.6mm height, Board to Board or Board to FPC Connectors with Rated Current Up to 5A.

Precautions:

• Recommended Solder Temperature Profile: MAX 250C for MAX 10 seconds. Preheat section: 150 to 180C (90 to 120 seconds). Heat section: 220C min. (within 60 seconds). Maximum of 2 reflow cycles.
• Recommended Manual Soldering: Soldering iron temperature: 340 10C; Soldering time: within 3 seconds.
• Recommended Stencil: Thickness: 0.08mm. Aperture ratio: 100% on DS side; 100% for signal contact, and 80% for power contact on DP side.
• Board Warpage: A maximum of 0.02mm at the center of the connector relative to each end of the connector.
• Cleaning Conditions: Cleaning is not recommended. If cleaning is necessary, evaluate performance before use.
• Handle with care when mating/unmating connectors, especially when not mounted on PCB, to avoid damage or deformation of contacts.
• Avoid supporting the PCB solely with connectors; use additional support like bolts or screws.
• Excessive prying during mating/unmating can cause damage.
• For hand soldering, do not apply flux to prevent flux wicking.
• Slight color differences due to production lot variability do not affect performance.
• To prevent disengagement due to dropping or impact, secure mated connectors with housings and cushioning materials, especially considering FPC routing.
• Do not use the connector in non-recommended conditions (rated current, voltage, PCB design, operating environment) to avoid material outgassing, ignition, or short-circuit.
• Refer to specifications and guidelines for board pattern dimensions, board cautions, and connector treatment. Contact Hirose for conditions outside of specifications.
• Mating/Unmating: Align and mate connectors parallel to each other. Un-mate parallel; if not possible, un-mate diagonally from the pitch direction. Avoid pulling from the corner. Provide a reinforcing plate for FPC if rigidity is insufficient (0.3mm or thicker glass epoxy or 0.2mm or thicker stainless steel recommended).
