Product Overview
The DF37 Series offers 0.4mm pitch FPC-to-Board Connectors with stacking heights of 0.98mm and 1.5mm. These connectors are designed for reliable and efficient connections between Flexible Printed Circuits (FPCs) and PCBs.
Usage Precautions
- Connector Removal: Pull connectors parallel to each other. If difficult, extract diagonally in the direction of the pitch, but be mindful of FPC rigidity to prevent breakage. Avoid pulling from the FPC corner to prevent connector and contact damage. Ensure sufficient FPC rigidity through trial production and repeated mechanical operation checks.
- Soldering: Follow recommended temperature profiles for reflow soldering (Peak: 250C max, Heating: 220C min for 60 sec max, Preheating: 150-180C for 90-120 sec, 2 cycles max). For manual soldering, use 34010C for within 3 seconds.
- Assembly: Use recommended metal mask thickness (0.12mm) and open area ratios (Receptacle: 80%, Plug: 70%). Ensure board warpage is within 0.02mm at the connector center.
- Cleaning: Cleaning is not recommended. If performed, evaluate performance as it may affect mating/unmating properties and environmental resistance.
- Handling: Avoid mating/unmating when not mounted on PCB to prevent contact damage. Do not support the PCB solely with connectors. Excessive prying during mating/unmating can cause damage. For hand soldering, avoid flux wicking. Slight color differences due to lot variability do not affect performance. Secure mated connectors to the board with cushioning materials to prevent disengagement from drops or FPC routing.
Application Considerations
Specifications are reference values. Confirm Drawing and Product Specifications sheets before ordering or use. Use appropriate cables; contact sales for non-specified cables. Hirose assurance is not given for assembly using unidentified jigs/tools. For high-reliability applications (automotive, medical, public infrastructure, aerospace/defense), contact Hirose for review before assurance.
