Product Overview
The PCA9685 is a versatile I2C-bus controlled 16-channel LED controller designed for advanced color backlighting applications, including RGB and RGBA. It features individual 12-bit resolution (4096 steps) PWM controllers for each of the 16 LED outputs, allowing for precise brightness control from 0% to 100% at programmable frequencies ranging from 24 Hz to 1526 Hz. The device offers flexible output driver configurations (open-drain or totem pole) and operates within a wide supply voltage range of 2.3 V to 5.5 V, with 5.5 V tolerant inputs and outputs. Its Fast-mode Plus (Fm+) compatible I2C-bus interface supports higher frequencies and denser bus operation.
