The Amphenol-CS SAS/PCIe 5.0 (U.2 or U.3) connectors are designed for next-generation servers, offering high-speed data transfer capabilities of 32GT/s for PCIe lanes and 24Gb/s for SAS lanes. These 68-position connectors, available as receptacles and headers, support both Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Hard Disk Drive (HDD) interfaces and Peripheral Component Express (PCIe)-based devices. Key features include molded guide posts for self-alignment during mating, a durable halogen-free high-temperature thermoplastic housing, and a lifespan of 500 mating cycles. They are compatible with SFF8639 specifications and backward compatible with previous SAS connector generations (12G, 6G, 3G). The staggered contact lengths provide sequential mating for hot-plugging, and stamped clips offer robust PCB attachment. These connectors enable the implementation of high-speed SSDs and HDDs, supporting both SAS and SATA drives, catering to both mission-critical and bulk storage applications.
